RUTHERFORDTON, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies in western North Carolina hope someone will recognize a man they said swiped a handgun from a pawn shop.

Rutherford County deputies said the man went into A-1 Pawn Shop on Railroad Avenue in Rutherfordton and asked about a handgun on Wednesday.

When the store clerk turned her back, the man stole a 9 mm handgun, camouflage in color, according to deputies.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'11" tall, 250 pounds, heavyset with graying hair.

If you can identify the suspect, you're asked to call Crime Stoppers at 828-286-TIPS.
