GAFFNEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Cherokee County deputies found the man they suspect of shooting someone in the side of the head outside a Gaffney gas station Monday night.

Dispatchers told FOX Carolina that two men got into an argument at the Kangaroo gas station on Shelby Highway in Gaffney, and that led to shots being fired.

An official at the county jail said deputies were looking for 27-year-old Brian McGill as a person of interest in the shooting.

Capt. Richard Turned with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office said they arrested McGill on a charge of attempted murder about 10:30 a.m.

The victim was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, deputies said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office or 911.
