A New Jersey principal has parents upset after banning strapless dresses for the middle school dance. The principal think's they're distracting to the boys.
The restriction is just one of many new rules for dances and proms around the country.
Sales consultants at Dimitra Designs in Greenville said they have seen a lot of new rules over the past few years.
"The dresses can't show the stomach area, can't be too low cut in the back and they can't be too short," said Dimitra Designs Sales Consultant Kim Holloway.
Holloway said this is just one of many new things on their checklist before any girl can purchase their dress.
