GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they arrested a Greenville man on 27 sex crime charges involving minors from cases dating back to 1976.

Greenville County deputies said 58-year-old Timothy Lee Anders was arrested Friday on multiple counts of lewd act on a minor and criminal sexual conduct with a minor, first and second degree.

Last week, deputies said the victim came forward and told them Anders sexually assaulted him during an eight-year period dating back to 1981 while Anders was employed as a maintenance person at Wrenn Memorial Baptist Church.

During their investigation, deputies said they found another victim who reported similar incidents as far back as 1976. The victim met Anders through church and began visiting with Anders in his home, deputies said.

Deputies said the girl was 6 years old when he began touching her.

Deputies said both victims reported that at first, Anders touched them inappropriately and later sexually assaulted them. Deputies said all of incidents happened at various places including Anders' home, his car and at church.

Investigators believe there may be more victims that have not come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 864-23-CRIME.
