GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they arrested a man who called 911 from a pay phone claiming he was an officer with the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Greenville County deputies said when the 911 dispatcher tried to confirm that the man was a trooper through the Highway Patrol Dispatch, the man hung up.

Deputies tracked the area where the call was made and found two people.

As they investigated, deputies said 27-year-old Freddie Clark made the call.

Clark was arrested and charged with impersonating an officer and unlawful use of 911.
