Flood warnings are out for nearly all Upstate counties and several Western North Carolina counties, as the rain continues to fall across the area.
Fox Carolina meteorologist Nicole Papay said the heaviest rain is over, but she expects rainfall to continue overnight Sunday and into Monday.
"People who live in low-lying areas, near rivers, creeks, streams and should be on alert for flooding and possible landslides," Papay said. "Large trees may also topple over because of the heavy winds and saturated ground."
Papay expects the winds to die down overnight. She says the water levels in rivers, creeks and streams are expected to continue to increase throughout the day Sunday.
The National Weather service has issued flood warnings for Anderson, Avery Buncombe, Greenville, Haywood, Henderson, Laurens, McDowell, Mitchell, Pickens, Polk, Rutherford, Spartanburg Transylvania, Union, and Yancey Counties.
