GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said a woman was rushed to the hospital after she was shot in the leg by a man outside of a Greenwood home.

Greenwood police said the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after the shooting on Blyth Road about 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Police said when they responded to the hospital, they spoke with a man in the waiting room who said he was picked up by his grandmother and the victim on the way to the hospital.

Then when officers spoke with the victim, she told them that she was shot by the man in the waiting room after she had an argument with him at a home on Blyth Road, according to the police report.

Police said the woman was scared to tell them who shot her at first, fearing he might "finish me off."

Police said the man, identified as 30-year-old Larry Hawes Jr., was taken into custody on charges of attempted murder, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and felon in possession of a firearm.
