SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg Public Safety officers are trying to track down the person they said opened fire outside an apartment complex late Wednesday night, hitting three people.

Officers said they were called to Howard and Preston's streets near the Oakview Apartments around 9:45 p.m. Officers said once arriving on scene, they spoke with witnesses who stated that they were standing outside of a birthday party, when someone drove by and started shooting.

Other witnesses reported that the suspect walked into the crowd and started shooting, according to investigators. It is not clear if this incident was an actual drive-by shooting, or if the suspect was apart of the crowd, Public Safety Capt. Art Littlejohn said.

Littlejohn said investigators are looking for a blue Toyota Corolla with tinted windows.

Officers reported one of the victims was shot in the foot, and the other two were shot in the back-side. All three were taken to Spartanburg Medical Center, but are expected to be ok.
