Plentiful sunshine today brings real warmth back to the Upstate, with highs heading near 80° in the Upstate, with mid-70s in western NC. Mostly sunny skies will break into some partial cloud cover Upstate later today, with western NC seeing a few more clouds and a chance for a pop up shower or thunderstorm this afternoon. Overnight, expect dry weather with partly cloudy skies, lows in the mid to upper 50s. Friday should start as a dry, partly cloudy day for all, but as we increase the cloud cover late in the day, western NC once again sees a chance for an evening thunderstorm to pop in. Highs even warmer Friday with the Upstate seeing low 80s, western NC seeing upper 70s. Saturday starts the weekend a bit soggy with highs in the low to mid 70s, and scattered showers and storms. Heading into Mother's Day, we bring back partly cloudy skies, could see a lingering shower/storm early, and then we dry out for the rest of the day. Temperatures Sunday, however, will remain cooler in the upper 60s to low 70s.
