GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

For more than a month, deputies have been trying to catch whoever was kicking in doors and stealing guns and jewels from several homes in northern Greenville County.

Then on Tuesday, deputies said they caught a break in the case.

Greenville County deputies said at 9:50 a.m. a Boswell Road homeowner called about some suspicious men after they offered to cut his grass, but the two men didn't have a lawnmower. The man told deputies his grass didn't need to be cut either.

The man gave deputies a description of their car then 40 minutes later, deputies said they were called to a home on Tigerville Road after an alarm was triggered.

Deputies said they spotted the same champagne-colored Honda nearby and stopped the car. Inside were four men and items believed stolen during some of the recent burglaries, deputies said.

As they investigated the cases, deputies said they arrested all four men in connection with the string of burglaries.

Deputies reported a total of 17 burglaries including along North Rutherford, Cripple Creek and Neely Mill roads in Greer; along East Old Mill, Belvue, Tigerville, Bowers, Center Road and North McCauley roads in Travelers Rest; on Milford Church Road, Center Drive and Raynes Court in Taylors; on Pennwood Lane, North Moore Road, Fontana and Yorkshire drives in Greenville; and on South Orchard Farms Avenue in Simpsonville.

Twenty-six-year-old Sammy Wiley II, 17-year-old Daverin Simpkins and 17-year-old Nicholas Nash were arrested on 21 counts of various charges including burglary, grand larceny and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. Anthony Oglesby, 22, was arrested on 15 counts of similar charges.

Additionally, deputies said 36-year-old Randy Wiley was connected to an April 8 burglary at a home on North Moore Road. He was charged with criminal conspiracy and burglary second degree and is being held in Anderson County on unrelated charges.
