Scattered Rain on Saturday and then a Cool-Down

Tonight: Despite a few widely scattered pockets of rain and storms this evening, our sky should clear out tonight in terms of rain.  Temperatures will settle back into the 60s for Upstate towns and 50s in Western North Carolina.

We're still keeping an eye on a weakening low pressure system spreading some rain over near the Mississippi River.  The energy associated with this system is losing some steam as it moves east which will cause areas of rain to spread out and break up some.  This means that our rain will be scattered on Saturday and there will be MUCH more dry-time than wet periods.

Saturday:  We'll warm up a good bit once again under more clouds than sunshine.  A southwest wind at 8-16mph will also help to warm things up.  Highs should reach the upper 70s to near 80° for the Upstate and low-middle 70s in Western NC.

Look for a small chance of rain in the morning and I think a few towns will see a rain shower.  The better chance of scattered pockets of rain and storms will be in the afternoon, but anything that falls shouldn't hang around very long.  There will be quite a few places which get by Saturday without any rain falling.

Sunday:  A cool front (seen on the image at right) will press some cooler and drier air in here on Sunday.  Due to the drier air, more sunshine will be out all day.

Temperatures will climb into the middle 70s in Upstate towns while Western NC towns only reach the middle 60s.

Monday & TuesdayOnce the breeze settles down and high pressure settles nearby, cooler temperatures will be the focus on Monday and Tuesday mornings.  Lows will sink into the 40s for Upstate towns and middle-upper 30s in Western NC towns.  It's been a cool Spring already and here comes another cool-down, albeit brief.
