The coroner said a Greenville man found dead outside of a popular downtown Greenville parking garage killed himself.

Greenville police investigated the death of a man on Sunday who was found dead on Richardson Street in front of the parking garage. Police reviewed surveillance video to determine how he died.

Greenville County Deputy Coroner Barry Wright said 34-year-old Jonathan Hamilton died after jumping from the top floor of the garage about 5:30 p.m.

Wright ruled Hamilton's death a suicide, saying he fell more than 80 feet.

The fall happened amidst a busy weekend in downtown Greenville, including the annual Artisphere arts festival, which ran until 6 p.m. on Sunday.
