SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

In two separate robberies, waitresses at two Sonic restaurants in Spartanburg County were robbed during the weekend.

Spartanburg County deputies said about 6:20 p.m. Friday, a young man ordered some food from the Sonic on Boiling Springs Road in Boiling Springs.

When the waitress brought out his order, deputies said he grabbed her change billfold and ran away towards Highway 9. Deputies said he got away with approximately $45.

The man was not wearing a shirt and had a red dew rag on his head, deputies said.

On Sunday, Spartanburg police said they were called to the Sonic on East Main Street about 9:30 a.m. after a man robbed a waitress there.

Police said a man wearing a blue jersey and blue jean shorts placed a large order and asked the waitress if she had change for a large bill. When she returned with his order, police said the man grabbed her change wallet from her apron and ran away on foot.

A witness told police he saw the man running down the sideway and get into a small gray SUV.

Police and deputies have not said if they think the robberies are connected.

Anyone with information about either robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
