GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

After no one won Wednesday night's jackpot, ticket sales continue to push the Powerball jackpot to a near-record national high.

As of Friday afternoon, the jackpot was $600 million. That's the highest jackpot in Powerball history and second-highest in U.S. lottery history.

With increased ticket sales fueling the jackpot, the prize could prize even higher before Saturday night's drawing.

While the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 175,223,510, players still have the chance to take home smaller prizes if they match some of the numbers.

If someone does take home the jackpot, they have the cash option of $376.9 million.

It's been four years since a South Carolina players took home a lottery jackpot, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.

"We feel like it's our time," said Education Lottery Executive Director Paula Harper Bethea. "It's been almost four years since we sold our last jackpot-winning ticket, that one worth $259 million, so we are optimistic. But even if we don't sell the jackpot-winning ticket, we could still celebrate a $1 million or a $2 million winner. So check your tickets, there are eight ways to win in addition to the jackpot prize."

The largest jackpot in U.S. history was from the Mega Millions game. $656 million was won on March 30 2012, split by three tickets in Kansas, Illinois and Maryland. Saturday's Powerball jackpot could surpass that record.

Tune into FOX Carolina at 10:59 p.m. Saturday to watch the drawing. Tickets must be bought by 9:59 p.m. Saturday.
