Three elementary schools and the central office in Torrington were placed into lockdown for a brief period of time Friday afternoon after police pursued a suspect in the area.
St. Peter/St. Francis, Vogel-Wetmore and Forbes schools as well as the board of education central office on Migeon Avenue were placed in a lockdown.
School officials said the students were released on a rolling dismissal until the lockdown was lifted.
Police have not released any details on the police pursuit at this time, but said the suspect is in their custody.
