SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Troopers said a Simpsonville man was arrested in connection with a wreck that killed a man and injured his 15-year-old daughter Sunday night.
The accident happened on Lee Vaughn Road at Scuffletown Road about 8:10 p.m.
Troopers said 26-year-old Lawrence Brown III was driving drunk when he took a right turn, lost control and ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and crossed back across the roadway hitting a Toyota Camry on its driver's side door.
Greenville County Deputy Coroner Barry Wright said the driver of the Camry, 38-year-old Kevin Webster of Simpsonville, died in the wreck and his 15-year-old daughter was airlifted to Greenville Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers said both victims were wearing their seatbelts.
Troopers said Brown was not wearing his seatbelt and was taken to the hospital with injuries as well. After he was released from the hospital, troopers said they arrested Brown on charges of felony driving under the influence involving death and felony driving under the influence involving great bodily injury.
Brown was booked into the Greenville County Detention Center on Monday.
