Silver Alert issued for missing Asheville man

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Asheville police issued a Silver Alert for a man who has not been seen since Friday when he walked away from his assisted living facility.

The North Carolina Department of Public Safety said 76-year-old Albert Francis Parsons, who suffers from dementia or another cognitive impairment, walked away from an assisted living center at 138 Springside Dr. in Asheville.

Parsons is described as a 5'11" tall white male, weighs 190 pounds, has short gray hair, hazel eyes and wears glasses.

Parsons may be in a red, white and blue 1977 Volkswagen Beetle with blue vinyl top with duct tape and South Carolina tag HFC-195.

The Silver Alert was issued on Friday.

Anyone who sees or knows of Parsons' is asked to call Asheville police at 828-252-1110.
