ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Westbound Interstate 240 was shutdown in Asheville after a truck hauling bags of fertilizer wrecked Wednesday, firefighters said.

Kelley Klope, spokeswoman for the Asheville Fire Department, said the flatbed truck was traveling in the inside lane when it hit the guardrail and tipped on its side near Brevard Road, spilling bags of fertilizer across the highway.

Traffic was routed off the interstate as cleanup crews and the hazmat team work to right and reload the truck with the fertilizer, Klope said.

She said no other vehicles were involved in the wreck, and the truck driver appeared uninjured.

As of 3:45 p.m., all of the lanes were back open.
