SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg Public Safety officers said they are searching for two gunmen after a man said they came to his back door late Wednesday night and started shooting.

Capt. Art Littlejohn said officers were called to a home on Loring Street around 11:30 p.m. When they arrived on scene, police said they found the victim shot in the arm.

The victim said he heard a knock at his back door and as soon as he walked toward it the suspects shot him through the door, according to police. He said the suspects fled the scene on foot.

The victim was transported to Spartanburg Medical Center; his injuries did not appear life-threatening, according to Capt. Littlejohn.

Both Public Safety officers and Spartanburg County Sheriff's deputies searched for the men with the help of the K-9 tracking team, but the suspects were not located.

Anyone with any information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 58-CRIME or Text TIP649 with your tip to CRIMES (274637).
