Coroner: Upstate mayor's daughter killed in crash

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Mayor of Honea Path's daughter was killed  late Thursday night after she ran off the road, hit a tree and her caught on fire in Anderson County, according to the coroner.

Troopers said her car caught on fire after hitting the tree just before 11:30 p.m. on Clamp Drive.

The Anderson County Coroner's Office said Angela Ragsdale, 47, died at the scene and confirmed that she was the daughter of Mayor Earl Lollis Meyers.

The crash is under investigation, but the coroner's office said Ragsdale died from blunt force trauma to her chest.
