Deputies: Husband, wife break into Henderson Co. home

HENDERSONVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said a burglar spotted running out of a Mills River home with stolen items stuffed in a pillowcase was caught with his wife trying to pawn the items a short time later.

The burglary happened just before 4:40 p.m. Thursday at a home off of Highway 280, Henderson County deputies said.

According to the 911 call, the victim returned home to find a man running behind her house. The woman told dispatchers she saw a man with black shorts and a white shirt carrying a pillowcase run away after she, "Hollered at him to stop."

Deputies said a description was sent out and officers began checking local pawnshops where they spotted the suspects. Their car was stopped and the stolen items were recovered, deputies said.

The husband and wife, 23-year-olds Nicholas and Taylor Jackson, were both arrested and charged with felonious burglary/forcible entry and felonious obtaining money/property by false pretenses, deputies said.

The pair was previously arrested in 2011 by Henderson County deputies, accused of breaking into other homes the area.
