SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A man responding to an ad for a motorcycle on Craigslist.org said he was robbed by three men instead, according to Spartanburg police.

Police said the man saw an ad online for a motorcycle and agreed to meet the seller at a home on Westover Drive about 1:14 a.m. Friday, but when he pulled up, he couldn't find the house number.

The man eventually spotted the seller, got out of his truck and approached the man who said the bike was up by the side of the house, according to the police report.

As they started walking up the driveway, police said the victim spotted two more men armed with guns, who threw him to the ground and grabbed an envelope he was carrying, but there was no cash inside.

The victim told them the money was in his truck, they took his keys and everything in his pockets, including his gun, then kicked him in the head, the report stated.

After they got the cash, they men threw back his keys and ran away, police said. The man did not give police a description of the robbers other than they were between 18 and 25 years old and one left behind a hat, the report stated.

Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
