UNION, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Jonesville woman was accused of trying to set a gas can on fire after getting into a fight with her husband, deputies said.

Union County deputies said Samantha Phillips, 26, and her husband were arguing, but he told her he wasn't in the mood to argue, so he told her to leave and shut the door.

He told deputies he heard Phillips yell she was going to light the gas on fire then heard her strike the lighter, according to the deputy's report.

Phillips husband pushed her, she fell and the gas ignited, deputies said.

Because they were still in town on another case, state agents came to the scene to assist in the investigation, deputies said.

Phillips was arrested and charged with third-degree arson.
