GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Spartanburg County Coroner said an Inman man has died after crashing his moped into a school bus that was stopped at a traffic light.

The crash happened Friday afternoon on Wade Hampton Boulevard at Gap Creek Road.

Coroner Rusty Clevenger said David Green, Jr., 24, was taken to the hospital with severe injuries and was pronounced dead a short time later.

Clevenger said the cause of death was multi-head and body trauma, pending the outcome of toxicology tests.

Greer Police said there was no indication that Green attempted to stop the moped before the crash, and are investigating whether or not he was operating a cell phone at the time.

Police said there were no students on the school bus at the time of the crash.
