ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County deputies said burglars stole two dirt bikes from a local motorsports store, leading officers on two separate chases Monday morning.

One of the two burglars was later arrested after crashing the stolen dirt bike, according Capt. Derek Roland with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.

Roland said the two broke into Anderson Motorsports on Clemson Boulevard about 3:45 a.m. by busting through a window with rocks before driving off on the stolen lime green dirt bikes.

He said deputies on patrol who heard a lookout alert spotted both bikes in separates locations, leading to two separate pursuits. After one of the pursuits, Roland said the juvenile driver later collided with a Lexus at Whitehall and McGee roads and was arrested at the scene of the wreck.

The second driver eventually ditched the bike in Belton, leading deputies on a foot chase before getting away, Roland said.

Deputies said when the thieves busted through the store's window, two motorcycles were damaged in the process and alarms were triggered.

The store told FOX Carolina that the thieves were able to get away with the dirt bikes because they simply kickstart and are not "street legal" bikes because they don't have lights and other road-required features.

Deputies are still looking for the second thief and reported no injuries in either chase or crash.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
