TAYLORS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The director of a Taylors daycare is accused of failing to report possible child neglect at the home of two of her students, according to deputies.

Greenville County deputies said the director of Lee Road Child Enrichment Center, 59-year-old Margaret Rose, was told of neglect issues involving cockroaches and insect bites at the home of Margie and Christopher Shaver but did not report it to law enforcement.

The Shavers were arrested in March after deputies said their home was covered in filth, infested with roaches and rodents and their 2-year-old son died after a dresser fell on top of him.

Deputies charged 27-year-old Margie Shaver with homicide by child neglect following her son Chandler's death. Deputies said she kept Chandler and his 4-year-old sister locked in an unsanitary, unsafe bedroom and failed to supervise their activities the night of his death.

Deputies said the home placed Chandler and his sister at unreasonable harm, charging both parents with unlawful neglect of a child.

The children were enrolled at Rose's program, according to deputies.

Rose was charged with failure to report child abuse or neglect and arrested June 6 after deputies said staff reported the children's cleanliness and issues involving the insects. She was released from jail on bond.
