Deputies: Ex-Holiday Inn employee robs hotel

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A former employee at a Holiday Inn Express in Anderson is accused of robbing the hotel at knifepoint, according to deputies.

Anderson County deputies said a man robbed the Alliance Parkway hotel at 10:50 p.m. Friday, holding the clerk at knifepoint before fleeing.

After reviewing surveillance video, deputies said they identified the robber as Timothy Edwards, 28, who used to work at the hotel.

Deputies said when they searched Edwards' home, they found robbery evidence there. He was arrested and charged with armed robbery and kidnapping.

Deputies said no one was injured in the robbery.
