POWDERSVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies are searching for a masked man who robbed a Powdersville Subway restaurant Thursday morning.

Anderson County deputies said the man was dressed in all black and was wearing a dark mask  and gloves when he robbed the store on Highway 153 just after 7 a.m.

The manager was unlocking the restaurant to open up when the robber accosted him, forced him inside and demanded money from the safe, deputies said.

Deputies said the robber struck the victim in the head with his gun before taking off on foot after he got some cash.

Deputies were out searching for the robber with bloodhounds but did not locate him. They said the manager was treated for his injury at the scene.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Anderson County Sheriff's Office at 864-260-4400 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
