ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Anderson man and racecar driver is accused sexually assaulting a girl during a nine-year period, according to deputies.

Anderson County deputies arrested Ralph Carnes, 54, on Thursday on charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 11 years of age first degree and committing a lewd act upon a child under 16.

Capt. Garland Major with the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said Carnes, who races cars in the Upstate, was arrested after investigators determined he had sexually assaulted the victim between 2001 and 2010.

Major said additional charges could be filed against Carnes and ask if anyone else has something to report they contact the sheriff's office.
