McCrory also is offering his condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

Thursday's storm toppled trees and downed power lines.

A 20-year-old woman died Thursday after she was hit by a falling tree in downtown Chapel Hill.

Two Wilkes County residents also died. A volunteer firefighter was electrocuted at a small fire and a 77-year-old man died when a tree fell on him.
