Deputies charge 2 in Laurens Hot Spot robbery

LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies made an arrest in the armed robbery that happened at Hot Spot convenience store.  

The arrests are the product of a joint effort between the Laurens County Sheriff's Office, Greenwood City Police Department and Greenwood County Sheriff's Office

The store was robbed Thursday of $150 and tobacco products, according to Laurens County deputies.

Corey Downs, 20, of Greenwood, is currently being held in Greenwood County on other charges. Laurens County deputies charged him with armed robbery, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime and kidnapping in connection with the Hot Spot case.

Thomas Conway, 19, of Ninety Six is also charged with armed robbery, and kidnapping and will be awaiting a bond hearing, according to the Lauren's County Sheriff's Department.
