Anderson Co. investigators need help solving cold case

ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

It has been nearly 30 years since Tina Milford vanished and was later found dead in Anderson County.

"She was a fun, loving person," said the victim's sister, Ann Hollingsworth.

Milford was last seen at the gas station at the intersection of Liberty Highway and Interstate 85 in Anderson County. Back in 1983, what is now a Shell station used to be a Lil Cricket gas station where Milford worked.

Hollingsworth said her mom was the last person to talk to her sister Tina.

"She talked to her about 1 or 2 o'clock that morning while she was at work," said Hollingsworth. "She was working the midnight shift by herself."

After that last conversation at the gas station, Tina vanished, and that's when, her sister says, a customer came in to find the store empty. A call to the Anderson County Sheriff's office would turn into a day or so of searching, until her sister's body was found off the Powdersville exit off I-85 in a wooded area. Investigators said they have gotten leads over the years, but they have fallen through. Despite the ups and downs of the investigation, Hollingsworth is holding out hope.

"I'd like to get some closure before something happens to me, my mother or brother," she said.

If you have any information that can lead to an arrest, call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
