The Greenville Road Warriors unveiled its 2013-2014 schedule on Wednesday, with the hockey season set to hit the ice in October.

The Road Warriors will open its season in Georgia against the Gwinnett Gladiators on Oct. 18. Their first home game will be on Oct. 25 against the South Carolina Stingrays.

The East Coast Hockey League schedule features 36 home and 36 away games, including 27 home games that will be played on Friday nights, Saturday nights or Sunday afternoons.

This season, Road Warriors' Sunday games will begin at 3 p.m.

Fans looking to cheer on the team will have several opportunities, including the longest home stand of the season with seven games from Feb. 9 to Feb. 23. That follows the longest road trip, eight games, from Jan. 24. to Feb. 8.

"With so many games against our division rivals to close out the season, fans can expect some intense hockey come March and April," said Road Warriors Head Coach Dean Stork. "The battle for the playoffs and division crown is going to be in full swing. There's going to be an electric atmosphere, and we'll need our fans behind us."

The Road Warriors will battle the Stingrays 16 times, including eight home matchups, and the Gladiators 13 times, including six games at home.

Other divisional opponents include five home games against the Florida Everblades (11 times overall) and 3 home games against the Orlando Solar Bears (eight times overall).

The last 15 games of the season are against South Division opponents, with the Road Warriors' regular season concluding on April 13 in Orlando.

For its second season, the Road Warriors has scheduled a President's Day Matinee game on Feb. 17 at noon against the Toledo Walleye. Then on Feb. 23, the 2012-13 Kelly Cup Champion Reading Royals will return to Greenville for the first time since last season's first-round playoff battle.
