GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

At least 10,000 motorcycles are about to rev their engines through Greenville, and Monday night, the city council passed a resolution in hopes of keeping the city as safe as possible with all the visitors.

Wing Ding 35 is the annual meetup for the Gold Wing Road Riders Association, and for the first time in five years, it's coming back to Greenville. That means Honda bikers from across the world will flood the city, bringing big tourism dollars.

Greenville's City Council resolved Monday night to stop all new business licenses, to keep traveling vendors from setting up shop where they're not welcome.

"We do want to avoid some of the public safety issues have had during similar festivals where vendors come in and just set up all over the place," council member Gaye Sprague said.

Bikers begin their registration on July 2. The Wing Ding runs from July 3 until July 6. On July 6 at the TD Convention Center, the motorcycles will run a parade route in the Pleasantburg Road area.

The event is expected to bring $10 to $15 million into the South Carolina economy, according to the Gold Wing Road Riders Association.

The association would also like to remind local residents to be extra cautious of motorcycles next weekend.
