SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
A traffic stop on Interstate 85 in Spartanburg turned into a drug bust when deputies found 193 pounds of marijuana, according to Spartanburg County deputies.
On Wednesday, a gold Mercury Grand Marquis was pulled over for a traffic violation and when deputies asked to search the car the suspects refused, according to deputies.
A canine, named Sawyer, was called to the scene when the suspects refused a search, said deputies. When the vehicle was presented to the dog it alerted deputies that there was drugs in the car, according to the deputy's report.
Inside they found over a 190 pounds of a green leafy material, deputies reported.
Thomas Snyder, 54, Kathy Ann Wheeler, 60, and Frankie Jo Martin, 61, were all arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana, greater than 100 pounds.
