GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

FOX Carolina and Bi-Lo held a donation drive on Monday to help the Greenville County Animal Care.

The shelter recently received an influx of over 140 new animals from a home in Fountain Inn after the animal's owner was charged with five counts of animal cruelty earlier this month.

The event was from 5 a.m. until 11:30 p.m. at the Super Bi-Lo located at 101 Verdae Boulevard in Greenville and raised $3,389 in cash and check donations along with $145 in gift cards and filled up six truckloads of items including food, treats, toys, towels and more.

The shelter remains in need of basic necessities for the animals and is looking for the public's help. They have compiled a list of items for the animals that would be appreciated.

  • Canned Cat and Dog Food (pate kind)
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Baby Shampoo or Pet Shampoo
  • Bi-Lo Gift Cards (to purchase food/supplies)
  • Peanut Butter & Honey
  • Dog and Cat Toys & Treats
  • Distilled Water
  • Hand Towels & Bath Towels

Greenville County Animal Care said they hope many of the dogs will be ready for adoption on Sat. July 6.
