Sen. Rand Paul visits SC to fundraise for SCGOP

Posted: Updated:

Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul will be making stops in the Palmetto state Friday, meeting with activists and fundraising for the SCGOP.

According to the senator's schedule, Paul will begin his trip in Greenville, meeting with activists and tea party groups. He'll also headline an invitation only lunch, with 20 party donors, costing $1,500 a ticket.

Then later this afternoon Paul will head to Columbia, where he'll continue meetings and also attend an SCGOP sponsored Summer Barbeque at the South Carolina State Farmers Market at 6:00 p.m.

Many believe Paul to be a potential contender for the Republican party's 2016 Presidential nomination.

This is the second time this year Paul has visited South Carolina. He recently told the State newspaper that people in early primary states, such as South Carolina, "pay attention."

Paul said he'll announce whether or not he plans to run for the Republican spot in 2014.
