Asheville police said they are investigating a shooting after a man was found shot in the parking lot of a public pool.
Police said they responded to Malvern Hills Pool on Rumbough Place at 2:20 a.m. where they found the 30-year-old victim.
Police said they received two 911 calls where someone reported a fight in the parking lot, hearing car doors slam and a person crying in the area.
In the first one, the caller reported a fight. Police said when they sent officers out they did not find anything. Then a short time later the same person called 911 again asking for officers to come because she could hear someone crying, police said.
The victim was taken to Mission Hospital where he remained on Tuesday, police said.
Police said they were still investigating to determine a motive and identify possible suspects.
Anyone with information is asked to call Asheville police at 828-252-1110 or Crime Stoppers at 828-255-5050.
