GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said a gas line break on Spring Street downtown Greenville has closed some of the surrounding areas.

Police said the Brown and Spring streets are closed from East North Street to Coffee Street and will remain closed until the break is fixed.

Police said one building was evacuated.

Spring Street runs north-south between Irvine and Brown streets and intersects at East Washington, East McBee and East Coffee streets.

Drivers in the area should expect delays and detours.

There is no word how long it will take to repair the break.
