ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Anderson County deputies said a Fountain Inn man has been charged for an accident along Interstate 85 Tuesday night.

Deputies said they initially got a call about a reckless driver heading north along the interstate, driving 80 to 85 mph, with a missing or flat tire.

The vehicle then exited off at exit 35 before striking a natural gas line, according to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said 26-year-old Cory Stagg was charged by the South Carolina Highway Patrol with reckless driving, hit-and-run with property damage and possession of a controlled substance.

Deputies said they're also investigating a claim by a good Samaritan that Stagg pointed a gun at them after trying to alert him to his flat or missing tire, but he has so far not been charged in that incident.
