Services planned for Greenville families killed in plane crash

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Two Greenville families who were killed in a plane crash in Alaska on Sunday will be honored at upcoming memorial services.

The Antonakos and McManus families died, along with the pilot, in a crash at the Soldotna airport shortly after taking off.

Both families attended Christ Church Episcopal, which announced the plans for two services.

A candlelight service is planned for local youth to attend on Thursday from 7-9 p.m.

The service will honor 16-year-old Olivia, 14-year-old Mills and 11-year-old Ana Antonakos, and 17-year-old Meghan and 14-year-old Connor McManus. It will take place at Christ Church in the All Saints Center along with the support of other local youth groups, including First Presbyterian Church and Buncombe Street United Methodist Church.

On Friday at 11 a.m., a memorial service for both families will be held at Christ Church in the church along with a live video feed in the Markley Chapel.

In addition to the five children, Melet Antonakos, 53, his wife Kimberly, 44, Dr. Chris McManus, 46, and his wife Stacey, 46, were killed in the crash.

On Wednesday at 4 p.m., Greenville Memorial Hospital employees will gather to honor Chris McManus' in a private service. He was a radiologist with Greenville Health System.

A candlelight service was held for the Antonakos family on Tuesday at the Gower Estates Pool, where the children were involved in the swim team.
