COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An unclaimed winning Powerball ticket worth $40,000 will expire in a few days if the holder doesn't claim their prize.

The winning ticket was sold at the Country Corner Express at 7604 Hwy. 25 N. in Ware Shoals for the Wednesday, Jan. 16 drawing, according to the South Carolina Education Lottery.

The winning numbers were 9, 21, 28, 32, 51 and Powerball 35 and the winning ticket matched four white balls, the red Powerball and the holder bought the PowerPlay, multiplying the $10,000 winnings to $40,000.

The winning ticket must be claimed before 4 p.m. on Monday July 15 in Columbia at the lottery's claim center.

If no one gets their prize, then the money goes into the Education Lottery Account.

Tune into FOX Carolina to watch the Powerball jackpot drawings held Wednesday and Saturdays at 10:59 p.m.
