SIMPSONVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Renewable Water Resources (ReWa) has responded to a sewage overflow in the vicinity of Holland Road in Simpsonville.

The sanitary sewer overflow is affecting the Gilder Creek downstream of Holland Road, according to ReWa representatives.

The overflow is a result of excess rainfall, according to representatives of the company.

ReWa said the overflow will not affect drinking water.
