More severe weather pushes into Connecticut

HARTFORD, CT (WFSB) -

As if what the state went through Wednesday afternoon wasn't enough, more severe weather started to push through parts of Connecticut early Thursday morning.

Severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for Fairfield County and New Haven County on Thursday morning, and flooding has been reported in parts of Bridgeport and Stamford.

Channel 3 Early Warning Weather Meteorologist Scot Haney said Thursday will be another unsettled day.

The tropical air mass remains in place, and a cold front will move into southern New England during the afternoon and early evening.

That means more showers and thunderstorms are likely, and they will produce torrential downpours since the atmosphere will be loaded with moisture.

There is even a chance for a few strong to severe storms with gusty winds. High temperatures Thursday will be in the low and mid 80s.
