Springfield police arrested a man for an alleged stabbing on Mulberry Street early Thursday.
According to Springfield Police Lt. Henry Gagnon, police swarmed Mulberry Street in response to reports that a man had been stabbed around 2:30 a.m.
Gagnon said the investigation led police to arrest Anthony Nicks, 38, for his alleged involvement in the stabbing.
Police said Nicks had cocaine, crack and other drugs in his possession at the time of his arrest.
According to Gagnon the victim suffered from wounds on the left side of his body and forearm but has non-life-threatening injuries.
Nicks was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a class B drugs.
