GREENWOOD, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Family and friends will welcome home soldiers who are returning from overseas at Lander University in Greenwood on July 13, according to a press release.

The soldiers are part of the 371st Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Defense Company (CBRN) and will be returning home after being stationed in Kuwait, according to the release.

They were the first CBRN unit to conduct an organic mission in eight years, according to Major Carla Debro.

The team ensured the right communications equipment is delivered to soldiers at the right time, Debro said. The team also monitors and protects from cyber attacks, according to Debro.

The event will be at 10 a.m. at Horne Arena on the Lander University Campus on July 13.
