Police: Shots fired into Shelby home after deadly accident

SHELBY, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Shelby Police said someone shot into a home from a car that overturned on Seaboard Avenue on Saturday morning.

Police said when an officer got on scene around 6:30 a.m. they found one person in the vehicle had died after being ejected from the vehicle.

The deceased victim's name hasn't been released.

The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 42-year-old Richard Martin and is charged with Driving While Impaired and Felony Death by Vehicle.

Martin is being held at the Cleveland County Detention Center on a $250,000 secure bond.

No one was injured in the shooting.

The Shelby Police Department is still investigating and said more charges could follow.
