ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

An Upstate charity is hosting a golf tournament to raise money for veterans.

Military Transition Services is hosting "Golfing for Vets" on Thursday, Aug. 15 at the Walker Course at Clemson University.

MTS said all proceeds from the tournament will help them provide services to homeless, unemployed and transitioning veterans.

The tournament, which is open to the public, will begin at 2 p.m. and feature a shotgun start and captain's choice scramble. The event will also include lunch, prizes, a silent auction and raffle opportunities.

Golfers are asked to register online in advance but can register the day of the tournament starting at 12:30 p.m. The tournament costs $125 per golfer or $400 for a foursome.

MTS is based in Anderson and offers services for veterans including resume development, interview coaching and job search strategies.
