SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg County deputies said a small plane crashed near Highway 221 and Mary Hanna Road in Woodruff on Wednesday night.

Kevin Bobo, of the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office, said the two people in the plane walked away the wreck after clipping some trees and going down.

The victims were flying a World War II biplane and were testing the altitude when the plane crashed, according to Bobo.

There is no word yet if weather was a factor in the crash.
