Arrest made in fatal Fountain Inn hit-and-run wreck

FOUNTAIN INN, SC (AP/FOX Carolina) -

Fountain Inn Police said a suspect has been charged in a deadly hit and run.

Police said James Bloodworth II, 35, was driving his Pontiac sedan when he crashed into a golf cart that was turning on to Weston St. from Quillen Ave. on Friday night.

Fountain Inn police said four people were on the golf cart when it was hit. According to warrants, Janice Patterson was killed, and the three others sustained great bodily injury.

Bloodworth faces one count of knowingly, willingly and intentionally leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death. He also faces three counts of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in great bodily injury.

Patterson, 75, was from Johnson City, TN, and was visiting family in South Carolina.
